Argentus is working with a new top-flight client in the Public Sector. This client is a globally-renowned organization in their Public Sector area, with a reputation for innovation and quality, and a sophisticated strategic sourcing category management team. Today, they’re hiring for a number of strategic Procurement roles, in this case a Senior Procurement Manager!
Working out of the company’s Ottawa location, the Senior Procurement Manager will take a senior leadership role within the Strategic Sourcing group – including people management of the Procurement team. This means using exceptional business acumen and stakeholder engagement to drive strategic planning and identify new Procurement opportunities. You will then work with the team to develop sourcing events and supplier networks for high-value Procurement, and lead the team in executing these projects. Once suppliers are identified, you will work in tandem with the organization’s legal team and other business unit stakeholders to develop and negotiate contracts with suppliers, working to reduce risk, deliver cost savings, and capitalize on opportunities for innovation through the Procurement process. In addition, as Senior Manager you will dive deep into the Procurement function to develop continuous improvements in process and technology, working to improve the organization’s Procurement efficiency and effectiveness – with the support of senior leadership.
Our client is looking for an individual with at least 7 years of Strategic Procurement experience – particularly in the Public Sector. Demonstrated success with people management is also a must for this role, as is a track record of delivering revenue, risk and efficiency improvements through successful negotiation of large-scale Procurement projects.
