Argentus is working with a new top-flight client in the Public Sector. This client is a globally-renowned organization in their Public Sector area, with a reputation for innovation and quality, and a sophisticated strategic sourcing category management team. They have an excellent benefits package, and also offer relocation assistance for candidates outside of their geographic area. Today, they’re hiring for a number of strategic Procurement roles, in this case two Senior Category Specialists!
These are 2 year contract opportunities, working out of the company’s Ottawa office. They’re specialist-level roles that will work with the organization’s business unit stakeholders to identify Procurement opportunities, and then deliver on those opportunities with a strategic category management mindset. You will take a front-line role in terms of developing and executing on RFx sourcing events in a number of high-complexity categories. You will collaborate with stakeholders and the team’s Procurement leadership to feed data into development of new strategies for strategic Procurement. Using your excellent business acumen and strong understanding and research into the supplier marketplace, you will work to drive cost savings and innovation in the company’s supplier relationships – safeguarding the transparency and efficiency of the Procurement process by working within established policy and trade agreements. In addition, you will use the organization’s Supplier Management framework to proactively resolve supplier performance issues as they arise.
These are high-level specialist roles for individuals with strong backgrounds in strategic Procurement. At least 5 years of experience executing large-scale Procurement events is a must for these roles, as is experience within Public Sector Procurement and an understanding of supplier contracts.
