Argentus has been retained by Chantier Davie Canada Inc. to conduct a search for three senior supply chain leadership opportunities at their Quebec City shipyard. Davie has recently begun building Canada’s new icebreaker fleet as part of Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, and they’re expanding their supply chain leadership team to deliver excellence in all aspects of the end-to-end supply chain as part of the project. Working out of the company’s Quebec City shipyard and reporting to the SVP Marine Operations and Operation Support Services, the VP of Supply Chain will be a key leadership position for the organization in developing, implementing and overseeing all aspects of supply chain strategies for the company’s shipbuilding and repair operations. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for a large supply chain portfolio including major equipment, fabricated assemblies, supplies and operational services. In this role, the incumbent will have a seat at the table with other senior leadership in the business, with a mandate to develop strategic supply chain plans, optimize processes for procurement and material handling, manage vendors and subcontractors, and lead the growing supply chain team to success. You will lead a variety of supply chain teams to source and manage suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of key goods and services, working at a high-level to establish strategic vendor relationships, and monitor vendor performance to drive projects to completion. You will take ownership of the material management function, collaborating with engineering teams to ensure a seamless integration of materials and services into the shipbuilding process, and working to optimize inventory levels while finding opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the supply chain function.
In short, this is a key strategic leadership role for Chantier Davie, with significant oversight over large projects and key supply chain functions, and excellent compensation to match. Our client is looking for individuals with 20+ years of leadership experience in key supply chain activities within Shipbuilding or similar industries, including Marine, Aviation, Mining, Heavy Engineering, Oil & Gas, or industrial manufacturing. Experience leading procurement and inventory management for large-scale projects, involving complex engineered equipment, is a must, as is experience leading large-scale supply chain teams, and successfully implementing process improvement projects. French/English bilingual is a significant asset for this role, as you’ll be interacting with suppliers, customers and other partners both inside and outside of Quebec.
