Today, they’ve tapped Argentus to help them place a Sourcing Specialist!
Working out of the company’s Mississauga, ON office, this Sourcing Specialist will take on front-line procurement duties for the company’s food raw materials category. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this Sourcing Specialist will work closely with teams in supply chain, production and quality assurance (QA) to secure supplies of food raw materials from the company’s diverse international supplier base. You’ll work to conduct procurement activities and transactions for food raw materials (purchase orders, invoices, pricing verification), while also working to develop the company’s strategic inventory position for the category. You’ll evaluate the company’s existing supplier base for risk, and develop contingency plans to ensure there are no supply chain gaps. You’ll work with the company’s product development and innovation departments to source alternate suppliers, leading negotiation and contracting with suppliers to maximize quality and delivery while minimizing cost. In addition to acting as a key strategic contributor for the company’s food raw materials category, you will also work within the packaging category to secure a strong inventory position, and work across both categories to develop medium and long term strategic procurement plans.
In short, this is an excellent sole contributor role with front-line purchasing duties, as well as more strategic duties in broadening the company’s supplier base through strategic procurement initiatives. Our client is looking for individuals with strong experience in food raw materials procurement, as well as very strong Excel skills. Procurement experience within the packaging category is also a strong asset for this role.
