Today Argentus is working with one of our top long standing clients on a new contract Procurement role. This organization, a major player in their industry (confidential), is known for their excellent Procurement and Strategic Sourcing group, as well as being known for innovation and passion in acting as an employer of choice for Procurement professionals looking to build their careers. Today, they’re looking for a Sourcing Specialist for a 6 month contract!
This role will work to support the company’s Mississauga, ON office, and act as a key contributor to the strategic sourcing group. In this role, you will hit the ground running to consult with clients and internal stakeholders on their sourcing needs, develop strategies for procurement that meet those needs, and then work to execute on procurements, working with stakeholders to offer advice and cost savings opportunities. You will be a key manager of the bid process, working within the company’s ERP system to prepare RF(x) documentation, issue bids, chair meetings with prospective suppliers, negotiate terms with successful proponents. Throughout the process, you will work to ensure a high degree of accuracy in documentation while, as well as supporting stakeholders if any contractual problems arise. In addition, you will use your procurement expertise to provide recommendations for improved strategic sourcing processes during the course of the contract term.
This role is an ideal fit for an individual with 2+ years of strategic sourcing experience, managing medium and large contracts for indirect procurement categories, including preferably Information Technology. Experience with ERP systems (ideally Oracle) and strong attention to detail are also requirements for this role, as is the ability to work within regulations and guidance to provide sourcing insights to a diverse set of stakeholders.
