Argentus is thrilled to be working with one of our great clients in the Manufacturing industry on an exciting Supply Chain leadership role! This company has a proud history in their industry, with a reputation for sustainability and development of industry-leading highly-engineered technologies for a suite of global customers. Today, they’re looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager!
The Opportunity:
This individual will work on-site at the company’s facility in Toronto, ON, with a mandate to maintain and optimize the company’s supply chain strategy and operations. In this role, the successful candidate will lead a diverse set of supply chain functions including material planning, inventory management, supply chain systems optimization, supply chain performance tracking and improvement, new product integration, as well as procurement and supplier relationship management. In this role, you will work to maintain and optimize the supply chain at a strategic level by managing workflow, demand and factory planning, and lead time reduction through a number of inventory management KPIs. You will work to assess future requirements for capacity within the company’s ISO QA standards, and review Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) data, working to optimize safety stock levels and inventory turns to execute on a just-in-time delivery strategy. In addition, you will work to build and optimize relationships with the company’s suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and proactively mitigating risks, while using data to evaluate supplier performance. You will work within the company’s ERP system (Syspro), as well as advanced systems including Kinaxis and KetteQ to ensure excellent supply chain data capture and utilization. Through all of these functions, you will lead the company’s high-performing team of production planning and procurement staff to execute at a high level and consistently improve the supply chain function.
The Ideal Candidate:
This role is an excellent fit for a well-established supply chain leader with a background in manufacturing, particularly Automotive, Electronics, Heavy Industry, Heavy Metals, etc. A background in Food or Consumer Goods Manufacturing is not a great fit for the role. The successful candidate needs to be a holistic supply chain professional with strong skills in inventory planning, and expertise in concepts and KPIs including safety stock, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), working inventory, etc. Experience in materials requirements planning (MRP), supply chain performance improvement, and procurement are also a must. In addition, candidates must have strong people management skills, as well as a strong understanding of ERP systems (Syspro), as well as Excel. Experience in Kinaxis, KetteQ and other advanced planning tools is a strong asset.
