Argentus is working with a brand new client on the east coast on a series of impactful Procurement roles. This company is a premier provider in their (confidential) industry, with a proud history and a commitment to supply chain excellence. They’re an excellent place to grow and foster your career, and they’ve reached out to Argentus with an immediate need for a Procurement Specialist!
This individual will join the company’s organization in Nova Scotia, as a front line strategic contributor to the company’s Procurement and Contracting function. In this role, the successful candidate will build and develop long-term relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and provide advice to internal stakeholders on contractual claims. You’ll develop a strategic understanding of the market conditions for relevant goods and services, including price, lead time, and availability, and use that understanding to drive cost savings in the company’s supplier relationships. You’ll work within the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to monitor supplier performance and adherence to contracts, and issue purchase orders for required goods and services as part of the overall procurement process. In addition, you’ll use strong continuous improvement skills to identify and leverage efficiencies within the company’s supply chain processes.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an emerging mid-career procurement professional with 3-5 years of contracting and sourcing experience under their belt. The successful candidate could have had experience within Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Government, and must bring exceptional analytical skills, including a strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems, as well as very strong relationship-building and negotiation skills to maximize value from supplier relationships. Please note: due to our client’s requirements, the successful candidate needs to have at least 10 years of experience living and working in history in Canada and/or in NATO countries.
This organization is a real career-builder, and they are willing to support relocation from within Canada to Nova Scotia for the right candidate.
