Argentus has a brand new set of roles with one of our fantastic clients in the Technology industry. This proudly Canadian company has a strong track record of innovation in their industry, with a strong strategic sourcing function and excellent category management group. Today, they have reached out to Argentus to source two Procurement Managers!
Working on a Hybrid basis at the company’s Mississauga office, these Procurement Managers will take on strategic sourcing and vendor management for critical indirect categories within the organization. One Procurement Manager will be responsible for the Information Technology category, and the other for a variety of indirect categories including HR, Marketing and Real Estate. These roles will work to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, and manage relationships with the company’s established vendor bases. You will work to develop strategy for the category, lead cross-functional teams to execute sourcing projects, select vendors, and conduct contract negotiations to meet stakeholder needs and provide value in terms of cost savings, innovation and risk mitigation. Exceptional vendor management skills are a must for the roles, as you’ll be managing key vendor relationships and contracts throughout the vendor lifecycle, including pre-qualification, vendor onboarding, vendor maintenance, performance management. You will implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the category, working to assess risk from the company’s 3rd party relationships, and then use sourcing and vendor management acumen to mitigate those risks, and continue to develop the strategic sourcing group into a centre of excellence within the organization.
In short, these are excellent sole contributor Strategic Sourcing roles at a top-flight organization. The successful candidates need to have considerable indirect procurement experience—we’re looking for experts with a strong record of vendor management and procurement projects within the IT, HR, Marketing and/or Real Estate categories. Experience with Coupa, Ariba, Oracle or other eProcurement tools is a must for this role, as are exceptional communications skills, and a proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
