Today, they have tapped Argentus on a search for a Procurement Manager – Construction!
Working out of the company’s office in British Columbia (exact location confidential), this Procurement Manager will lead a team in strategic development and execution of a number of major projects within a variety of Construction categories. In this role, the successful candidate will develop category strategy for the portfolio, and coach their team to success in execution of successful procurement projects, including change management, contract and performance management. This includes working closely with a variety of stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, and then going to market to secure competitive supplier bases for the assigned goods and services, leading complex negotiations and contract development, and then working to manage the projects from a procurement standpoint through to completion. In this role, the successful candidate will also identify opportunities for continuous improvement, lowering total cost of ownership and driving measurable results.
This role is a great fit for a candidate with considerable end-to-end procurement experience within large-scale, high-value and complex construction projects. Experience with a variety of construction projects across different sectors and modes is a must, as is experience with continuous improvement initiatives, and the strong communications skills necessary to get buy-in from stakeholders across the organization. Additionally, our client is looking for candidates who have successfully managed teams.
