Argentus is happy to announce another Procurement role with an excellent client! This company (confidential) is a Canadian distribution company with a large and diversified product base, and a strong growth plan. Today, they’re looking for a Procurement Manager to lead their national procurement strategy development and execution.
Working out of the company’s Calgary, ON office (onsite), this Procurement Manager will build and lead procurement strategy for a high-volume portfolio of finished goods. In this role, the successful candidate will shape the company’s procurement framework, driving growth and protecting strong margins by building relationships with various strategic supplier bases. You will negotiate effective contracts with suppliers, manage vendor relationships, and align procurement processes across the national operation and branches—all with the goal of driving cost savings, strong supplier relationships and continuity of supply. Additionally, you will implement new procurement KPIs and establish new tools and systems to help drive strategic procurement decisions, supporting individual branch managers with their sourcing challenges.
For this role, our client is looking for a proven mid-career procurement professional with considerable experience procuring finished goods at a large scale, ideally for a multi-site operation and ideally within the distribution industry.
