This company is a leader in the Medical Distribution field, with a proud and deep history in the industry and a wide array of products servicing a variety of customers across Canada. As part of an ongoing supply chain transformation project, they’re looking for a National Buyer for their procurement function!
Working on-site out of the company’s facility in either Brampton, ON or Vancouver, BC, this National Buyer will take on overall accountability to improve fill rates as well as the inventory position for the assigned categories of finished goods. The successful candidate will work with suppliers shipping to multiple warehouses across Canada, working to purchase goods, manage and improve the inventory position, and increase overall supply chain performance. You will utilize the company’s ERP system to collect supplier information and ensure that it’s up to date, and draw insights about the company’s inventory position that you can leverage to ensure that purchase orders match the company’s overall supply chain strategy and position. You’ll use the company’s demand forecast and sales trends to issue purchase orders and warehouse transfers, and manage inventory returns and cancellations. You’ll also use strong supplier relationship management skills to build open communication and trust with the company’s supplier network, providing feedback on performance and working to find opportunities for collaboration and innovation as they become further integrated in the company’s supply chain. In addition, you will be a key contributor to change management as the company introduces new products by providing inventory and supply chain insights to ensure excellent service to the company’s medical customers.
In short, this is an excellent procurement role with significant room to grow for the right individual as the company continues to modernize its supply chain into a centre of strategic excellence. Our client is looking for individuals with significant procurement experience within a Distribution environment, as well as very strong experience with ERP systems and Advanced Excel skills. They’re looking for people who have worked to improve and modernize inventory and supplier performance, with the big-picture vision to evolve their contribution through strategic development.
