Today we’re bringing you a brand new Customs role from a fantastic manufacturing client. Recognized as a top place to work in Canada, this company is a leader in their product category, with a suite of innovative products and strong growth. Today, they’re looking for a Manager — Customs Compliance, and have tapped Argentus to source them an excellent candidate.
This newly-created role will work out of the company’s Missisauga, ON location on a hybrid basis, reporting to the Director of Logistics, as a central subject matter expert and point of contact for all duty and customs activities in the business—primarily import of goods into Canada, and export of goods into the USA. In this role, the successful candidate will lead a small team of Customs Analysts to design and implement new processes and procedures around customs, working to find efficiencies in how the company manages its customs compliance documentation and duties. You will own and manage the company’s relationships with customs brokers and agents, working to triage any issues with customs as they arise, perform root cause corrective actions (RCCA), and audit customs documents for accuracy—ultimately working with the customs broker to complete documentation to a high degree of accuracy and minimize risk exposure for the company. You will also support the duty drawback process, as well as the duty deferral program for sales the company undertakes in Canada. In short, using your strong background in Customs Compliance, you will act as an overall customs compliance expert, developing it as a key centre of value for the organization.
This role is an excellent fit for a candidate with a strong background in import/export customs and duty compliance for a manufacturing organization or similar industry. Experience with import into Canada and export into the U.S., including all relevant CSBA and CBP requirements, is a must. A CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) designation is also a requirement for this role. If this fits your background, and you’re looking to step into your next opportunity at a fantastic organization, reach out to Argentus today! Call 416 364 9919 or send an email with your current resume, as well as a note outlining your background in import/export customs, to recruit@argentus.com.
