Argentus is working with a brand new client, a renowned automotive manufacturer with a wonderful history, strong growth and a global presence. They have tasked Argentus with a number of searches for their supply chain group—in this case a Logistics Supervisor!
This individual will work out of the company’s facility in the North area of the GTA, and report to the Materials Manager at the site, with a mandate to deliver excellent customer service and process improvements in the company’s Logistics function at the site. This individual will lead a team of key logistics contributors in functions including shipping & receiving, warehouse transfers, production material handlers and yard maintenance, coaching these teams to success as they ensure a smooth flow of goods at the facility. You will manage the workforce, including working with HR on hiring, training and onboarding, and ensure that overall company and departmental policies are being met. In this role, you will work to maximize labour utilization with the goal of achieving 100% on-time delivery, while also working to ensure inventory accuracy, and issuing preventative and corrective actions if accuracy is below the goal. You will work to plan the layout of the warehouse and facility, and work within the company’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to track and improve the flow of goods through the facility, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the overall logistics process.
This role is a good fit for an individual with at least 5 years of Logistics experience, including experience in warehouse & facility planning and experience leading a hands-on team—ideally in the Automotive industry. A good understanding of WMS and MRP systems and processes is a must for this role, as is a good understanding of Materials Management best practices. A distribution background is not the right fit for this role. If this description matches your background, and you’re looking to move into a new Logistics opportunity, reach out to Argentus today! Send an email with your current resume, outlining your procurement experience within manufacturing, to recruit@argentus.com.
