This growing company is known for their excellence in product line and service, with a diverse, high-performing team. As part of the ongoing growth of their supply chain function, this organization is seeking to improve their logistics network and gain more value from logistics carrier relationships, and as a result have tapped Argentus to find a Logistics Manager!
Working out of the company’s facility in Toronto (with WFH one day per week), this Logistics Manager will manage the overall flow of goods from source (domestic and overseas) to clients within North America. This is a hands-on leadership role where the candidate will be working to lead, coach and mentor a team in executing exceptional customer service for the company’s clients all along the Logistics process. You will work with 3PLs, carriers in North America and Europe, freight companies and suppliers, to develop relationships, consolidate shipments and improve the network and service, while finding cost savings within the Logistics function. You will work to identify risks along the supply chain, communicating with senior leaders in the business to action any possible disruptions to the flow of goods, and develop and implement ongoing strategies for logistics optimizations. In short, you will work to break down silos and closely integrate the logistics function within the wider company, including Purchasing, Customer Service, and Finance, finding opportunities for efficiency and operational improvement while leading a team to delight the company’s customers through the delivery process.
Our client is specifically looking for a hands-on Logistics leader with a strong background in building and developing 3PL relationships, and delivering cost savings through carrier negotiations. The successful candidate needs to have at least 5+ years of Logistics experience, including expertise in importing goods using ocean freight. In addition, people management experience, expertise within SAP, and a proven ability to implement process improvements are requirements for this role.
