Argentus is working with an excellent client in the Retail Distribution industry on a great front-line supply chain role. This company, distributing to a number of top retailers, has a storied tradition in their product category, with a reputation for technical innovation and product performance. Today, they’re looking for an Inventory Analyst, and have tapped Argentus to source an excellent candidate.
Working out of the company’s Newmarket, ON office, this Inventory Analyst will take an ownership role for the company’s data related to inventory and sales forecasting for one of their flagship brands, with the goal of increasing company sales and meeting financial targets. In this role, the successful candidate will maximize the efficiency of inventory, ensuring availability and minimizing obsolete and slow-moving inventory, by providing a deep analysis of data and presenting actionable insights to leadership in the organization. You will work within the company’s ERP system to maintain excellent data and reporting of Inventory KPIs, and recommend and execute optimal procurement plans with the company’s vendors based on the company’s current and future inventory position. In addition, you will work to support the sales forecasting and demand planning process by providing trend analysis based on data, and act as a key liaison to finance for identifying slow-moving and obsolete inventory. In short, this is an excellent front-line supply chain role with an opportunity to contribute to the company’s overall supply chain strategy through an excellent application of data analysis.
This role is ideal for an individual with at least 2 years of experience in Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, and purchasing within consumer goods distribution or a like industry. Excellent skills with Excel are a must, as is a strong understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP). Understanding of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) is also key to the role, as are strong communications skills to interface with many different stakeholders across the organization.
