Today Argentus is working with another fantastic client on a great Logistics role. This company is a leading distributor in their industry, with strong growth and a global scope. Today, they’re looking for a Customs Compliance & Logistics Lead to help manage their import/export logistics!
Working from the company’s facility in Brampton, ON, this Customs Compliance & Logistics Lead will play a critical role in cross-border transactions for the company’s products, working to build and maintain relationships with customs authorities, while applying their strong understanding of import/export regulations to lessen the possibility of risk of penalties from noncompliance with import/export rules. In this role, the successful candidate will take ownership of a variety of customs documentation, ensuring that goods are properly valued as part of relevant paperwork for customs purposes. You will be an in-house subject matter expert for border and customs regulations, duties, and fees including Canada Border Service Agency requirements and U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements and operating procedure, providing guidance around proper classification for the import and export of goods. You will prepare and review relevant customs documentation, and monitor changes in trade laws, tariff schedules and other customs regulations, providing proactive communication to management that will help implement the necessary compliance measures. In addition, you will provide project management and oversight for a number of customs and logistics process improvements, working to improve the overall import/export of goods for the organization.
In brief, this is an impactful front-line customs role. It’s an ideal fit for a candidate with at least 3-5 years of import/export and customs documentation experience, with an exceptional knowledge of customs regulations and requirements. In addition, the successful candidate needs to have strong project management skills and supervisory experience. French/English bilingualism is an asset.
