Today Argentus is working with one of our long-held clients in the Automotive Service Industry on a senior Procurement leadership role. This client is an established leader in their niche, with a strong footprint in Canada, in the process of expanding their operations to become the leading provider in their industry. Today, they’ve tapped Argentus to help them source a Senior Procurement Manager!
Working out of the company’s Burlington, ON location (Hybrid), this Senior Procurement Manager will take on strategic oversight for the company’s Direct and Indirect spend ($1 Billion+). In this role, the successful candidate will report to the VP of Procurement and develop processes, strategy, and execution for the company’s spend on materials (approximately 40-50% of spend), as well as indirect goods and services required for the company’s operation, while also having oversight of the procurement department’s budget and policies. You will work to develop a deep understanding of stakeholders’ needs, and conduct end-to-end sourcing projects to drive value from economies of scale, lowering costs while improving service and finding opportunities for innovation. This role requires exceptional contract development and management skills as you’ll work to secure the best agreements possible with suppliers, as well as supplier relationship management skills to evaluate ongoing suppliers for performance and cost. In addition, this role has a strong continuous improvement component, where you’ll work to implement strategic sourcing best practices and processes to help make procurement a strategic advantage for the organization.
In short, this is an excellent senior procurement opportunity for the right individual, with room to grow. The successful candidate needs to have experience with high-volume, complex spend within a variety of both direct (materials) and indirect (services) procurement categories. Our client is looking for individuals with exceptional analytics skills, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset to help build processes and best practices as the organization grows. As mentioned above, strong contract management and supplier relationship management skills are a must. If this sounds like you, and you’re ready to move into a new opportunity, reach out to us today!
