This full-time, permanent role will work on a Hybrid basis out of the company’s Mississauga, ON location. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for demand forecasting, tactical purchasing, as well as inventory management for a set series of Shop Keep Units (SKUs). You will use key KPIs including fill rate, inventory on hand, inventory in transit, inventory valuation and turns, to identify the company’s inventory position, and then use your purchasing skills to purchase components and materials from a variety of global locations to support the inventory strategy. After purchasing, this role involves establishing delivery schedules, monitoring progress, and contacting suppliers to deal with any outstanding issues and mitigate risk in the purchasing and inventory process. In this role, you will also be working to set up and monitor demand forecasts for the assigned SKUs based on past demand, seasonality, trends and other data, and also work to help develop the company’s S&OP process within an ERP environment. In short, this role will use a variety of inventory KPIs, as well as your skills in forecasting and procurement, to improve the company’s overall inventory position, data and processes.
The successful candidate for this role needs to have a mix of the above skills, including at least 3-5 years of Demand Planning experience, as well as Purchasing and Inventory Management experience, preferably in a Manufacturing and / or Automotive environment. Experience with purchasing from global locations to support local manufacturing and operations is also a must, as is S&OP experience, and an exceptional ability to work with data and KPIs to drive value.
