Today, they’re growing rapidly, and looking for a Purchasing Manager to help support the continued growth of the business!
Working out of the company’s office in the North GTA, this Purchasing Manager will take on procurement oversight for the company’s crucial food and category—a core function for the company. In this role, the successful candidate will execute on procurement strategy for food and supporting products. You will work to deeply understand the needs of a variety of stakeholders across the organization, including leadership teams in operations and finance, project management, sales, marketing and others to match supply to market demand, avoiding shortages without generating excess inventory. In this role, you will manage the relationships with the company’s suppliers, working to gain value from the company’s existing supplier relationships through strong procurement, as well as working to identify new sources of supply. You will assist with forecasting for the food category, and monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and price developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation—and work to develop food purchasing into a key competitive advantage for the organization, in alignment with its broader business goals.
This is an excellent role for a proven procurement professional with considerable purchasing experience in food and related categories. Experience with managing vendor relationships is a must, as is knowledge of food industry regulations, food safety standards, and various dietary needs. Note: the successful candidate must come from a food background. Our client is also looking for individuals with exceptional data analytics, skilled with both Excel and ERP systems, as well as the business acumen to liaise with a variety of stakeholders in the business.
