Argentus is working with a new Consumer Packaged Goods client on a Procurement management role! This company is a leader in their product category, with a number of innovative brands. As part of their continued growth, they’re looking for a Purchasing Manager!
This individual will work out of the company’s office in Charlottetown, PEI (relocation assistance provided if necessary) to manage the Purchasing process for the company’s raw materials, as well as Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) goods and services from overseas suppliers and internal company suppliers. In this role, you will help lead the procurement process from the perspective of people, processes and technology, working to develop processes and KPIs to add effectiveness to the procurement operation. You will use tools such as ERP and MRP to provide insights about replenishment needs, working to improve efficiency in how the supplier procures goods, and from whom. You will work to closely manage suppliers to help improve quality, delivery, working capital, cycle time reductions and productivity, ultimately working to attain cost savings. In close collaboration with key stakeholders across the business including Production, Logistics, Supply Chain and Planning, this role will be a key contributor to ensuring the smooth flow of product across the overall value chain. As mentioned, this role has a significant continuous improvement component, where you’ll be enacting projects and transformations to improve the company’s procurement playbook. It also has a significant responsibility people management, as you’ll be working to coach and develop purchasing staff.
Our client is looking for someone with at least 6 years of experience in the Consumer Goods manufacturing industry, particularly within Purchasing of raw materials and MRO. People Management experience is a must, as you work to lead the team. This role also requires someone with a track record of delivering projects to develop KPIs and improve Procurement processes.
