Today we’re working with a fantastic Public Sector client on a contract procurement role. This organization is a renowned Public Sector institution with a fantastic supply chain and best-in-class procurement group, which is very strategic while being an exceptional bastion of public procurement standards. Today, they’re looking for a Procurement Specialist on a contract basis (up to one year)!
Working on a hybrid basis out of the company’s Toronto, ON office, this Procurement Specialist will take on RFx management and end-to-end sourcing for complex, high-value spend within a variety of indirect categories (including marketing, HR, and corporate services). In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, review scopes of work, draft procurement documents (RFx), and then manage the bid process including bid evaluation, supplier selection, negotiation, onboarding and continued supplier relationship management. A strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement standards and regulations is a must, as you’ll be working to ensure an open and fair supplier competition process within the company’s established framework, working strategically to identify suppliers who will add value to the company through cost savings, risk mitigation, and innovation. In addition, in this role you will take a front-line role in procurement document creation and maintenance, development of templates, analysis of vendors, and procurement metrics and KPI tracking. You will work with the department on procurement continuous improvement initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert for procurement policies, trade agreements, legislation, and procedures—while providing exceptional service to the stakeholders and business lines in the organization.
Our client is looking for individuals with at least 5 years of Strategic Sourcing experience within Indirect categories, including experience with high-value, complex procurement projects. The successful candidate also needs to have experience within Public Sector Procurement, including knowledge of all applicable regulations, standards, trade agreements and legislation.
