Argentus is working with a top recent client in the Logistics space on a critical Logistics role. This organization has a proud and storied history in the Logistics industry, with an expertise in materials handling and warehousing support. Today, they’re looking for a Fleet Manager to help oversee operations and strategic projects — an excellent opportunity to grow!
Working out of the company’s office in Mississauga, ON (Hybrid), this Fleet Manager will take on overall fleet management duties, with an emphasis on managing the company’s large 3rd party fleet provider. In this role, the successful candidate will use exceptional vendor management skills to steward the Fleet Management Company (FMC) relationship, using the database, portal and reports to monitor compliance and overall performance from the commercial fleet. You will oversee taxable benefits, mileage, repairs, renewals and other budgetary metrics, and audit ongoing invoices from the vendors, while also working to manage fleet contracts and vendors using sound procurement best practices, as well as procuring necessary goods and services for day-to-day operation. This role has a significant compliance component, as you’ll be working to ensure the fleet complies with road safety standards as well as other regulations (e.g. CVOR, DOT). In addition, you will work to develop and implement continuous improvement and change management initiatives to improve fleet performance, budgeting and efficiency. Please note: this is a sole contributor level role, with significant oversight of the function but no direct reports.
To step into this role, the right candidate needs to have at least 2-5 years of Fleet Management experience for a significant fleet. Strong vendor management skills are a must, as is experience working with 3rd party fleet providers (FMCs) and a good understanding of various fleet regulations. Our client is also looking for someone with a successful track record of planning and implementing change management projects within a fleet environment.
